In Rubin's experience (as it is).
It’d
been a tough few months since the beginning of 2018. I had to come to terms with
new facts that life had thrown at me and I was failing to cope with the
pressure. I reached out to a few of my friends at King’s who lent their
sympathetic ears and tried to support me. I say “tried” because I was soon to
find out that this battle was my own to fight. Life was imploring me to go on a
journey of deep introspection and find myself for the first time. I turned into
a sponge to soak in new information and realized that I was far from the truth
of who I am and the potential of my being. But, I’m getting ahead of myself
here because before I met that version of myself, I met a man with a deep beard
who greeted me with a friendly smile and followed it with an engaging
conversation at King’s cafeteria. This man was Diplove Gautam, the new mentor
of Mentorship Pathway. Diplove is a NLP master practitioner, a life coach, and
an energy healing expert.
During
my conversation with him, I became aware that I was knocking on the right doors
on my own, but help from a professional like him would greatly benefit my
journey. I applied to his new program at Mentorship Pathway that he’d designed
to help people examine their understandings of the world, their beliefs and
values, and their approaches to everyday life. I was accepted into a small
group that was taken on a 10-week journey from May to mid-July. The program
started by explaining how humans internally represent the world after filtering
experiences either by deleting, generalizing, or distorting information. This
representation was called our “Model of the World”. Based on the model, a set
of assumptions called “presuppositions” were defined that formed the foundation
for the rest of the sessions of the program. The sessions included
introspective periods that allowed me to reflect on my beliefs and values; and
Diplove was very kind, patient, and thorough as a mentor.
He introduced tools that would help me tweak
my beliefs, change my self-image, increase my confidence, and connect with my
higher self. While I saw glimpses of the possibilities then, it was several
weeks after the program had ended that I began to consistently see changes in
my life. It’s September now and I can say that I’m living through an incredible
time. How I perceive the world today as compared to how I perceived it months
ago are as different as night and day. I’ve learned to declutter my life and
focus on the things that take me closer to my goals. My relationships with
people have drastically improved. I’m happier as a person and I’m adamant on
growing each day that comes. To put it simply, I’m proud of the man I’m
becoming. I strongly recommend fellow students to benefit from the programs
offered by Mentorship Pathway. The sessions are short and effective. The
learning’s are very much applicable to your professional career; it’ll
definitely be a life-changing experience.
